1. What method of training do you use? We do not commit ourselves fully to only one training methodology at Cosmic Canine. We believe that adhering to only one style of training is very limiting - what works well for one dog might not work so great for the next! Though we are open minded and have experience in problem solving multiple ways, there are a few things we will absolutely NOT do. We do not support any type of "dominance" training - such as alpha rolls or physically dominating a dog. Our dogs are our partners - we want to work WITH them, not against them. These methods cause conflict in our relationships with our dogs. 2. Do you only train German Shepherds? No! Though we own and work with a lot of German Shepherd breeders, we are willing and happy to work with all breeds. We like to specialize in high-energy breeds, so German Shepherd people often find themselves here.
3. Should my dog attend group class, private lessons, or board and train? Each of these options has different pros and cons. The easiest way to determine what would be the best fit for you and your dog would be to bring your dog by for a free evaluation so we can discuss your goals, expectations, and ideas. Most older dogs that have had no obedience training typically do well with one or two private lessons followed by a group class.
4. Does your facility offer any type of protection or bitework training? No. Though the trainers here participate in Schutzhund and may be seen practicing using the building from time to time, Cosmic Canine and the Schutzhund club are completely separate and we offer no types of protection training here to clients.
